DRUM AND BASS [history]
Drum and bass also known as DnB / Drum / D`n`B / is a form of underground electronic music previously known as – jungle (emerged in late 1980s). DnB music is marked as very fast broken beat rhythms (usually 160–180 steps per minute, but also having casual differences in some old tracks), with dark melodic bass lines. In the 2000 - 2001, drum`n`bass was still considered as an underground music style, but it also has strong influence on popular music and culture.

In the very early 90`s Drum`and`bass began as new music genre of the United Kingdom's hardcore rave scene, and over the first 10 years of its existence there were many changes in its style, incorporating elements from ragga, dancehall, electro, funk, hip hop, house, jazz, heavy metal, reggae, rock, techno and trance.
By 1991, music tracks made up with "broken" beats begun known as "jungle" and became a separate musical genre (between1991-1992) very popular in raves and at the radio station in all Britain. By 1994 dnb began to obtain popularity and fans of the Jungle music (known as junglists) became a part of British subculture. At that time, Jungle culture began strongly associated with criminal activity and probably therefore as a reaction producers started move away from Ragga and create Drum and Bass. It is difficult to say when exactly Jungle become Drum and Bass music.
